A.C.I.S. was originally invited to submit a quote for this project by Building Solutions (Construction Manager) as designed by Dale Caffee and Associates (Mechanical/Electrical Engineers). The existing systems installed in 1985 consisted of (4) 80 ton Carrier air cooled condensing units, connected to DX refrigerant coils. After several meetings and discussions, and some eventual scope/design changes; A.C.I.S. was selected to perform the project.
After careful design, lay out and organization; A.C.I.S. began the change out process on Friday afternoon, removed and replaced the existing coils with new chilled water coils; and removed the existing condensing uni ts from the site. Beginning Saturday morning, a new steel support structure was set for the equipment; and two Carrier 170 ton air cooled chillers were set. A prefabricated “skid” containing the new chilled water circulating pumps, storage tank and air separator, was rigged and set in place. By Sunday afternoon, the piping system was complete and pressure tested; and the equipment started for Monday morning occupation.
Randy Irlbeck, vice-president of Pillar Commercial (the building owner) surveyed the jo b on Saturday morning and exclaimed: “I can’t believe the amount of work that has been accomplished in such a short period of time. You guys are amazing.”
Gary Aaron, senior building engineer said: “ACIS performed the change out by providing expert employees and contractors to insure the complete job from start to finish. ACIS kept our company informed with each step of the demolition and installation process. ACIS has maintained a positive response to our needs since the installation and has provided fast and complete service.”
